Alison P. Hitz

Member; Clark Hill, PLC

Alison Hitz is a Member in the Immigration Business Unit at Clark Hill LLP. She received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Political Science from UCLA in 2006 and her law degree from The George Washington University Law School in 2011. She has been named a “Best Lawyer in America” for Immigration Law since 2023 and a SuperLawyers Northern California Rising Star since 2019.

She represents employers, physicians, and professionals in a variety of immigration matters including J-1 waivers, PERMs, nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions, and citizenship applications. Her clients include physician groups, hospitals, health systems, and small to mid-sized corporations in the engineering, technology, financial, and other sectors.

Alison has filed successful J-1 waiver cases with interested government agencies and state departments of health across the United States, helping bring many primary care and specialist physicians to underserved communities. Alison has also represented clients before the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and other federal agencies. She has assisted clients in responding to Requests for Evidence and Notices of Intent to Deny and appeals challenging denials of their cases.

A key component of Alison’s practice is collaborating with and educating her clients to ensure their problems are solved as quickly and effectively as possible. She has frequently presented to healthcare employers regarding options to secure and retain foreign national physicians, as well as to physicians on securing a job that suits their immigration needs.
