Deb Gugel enjoyed a successful marketing career before turning HR professional in 2008. She is a physician recruiter at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisconsin, serving the Department of Surgery for 13 years and the Department of Medicine for the past 3 years. Deb brings a marketing perspective to the recruitment process and uses strategies to identify, attract and engage prospects and fill positions. She has presented at national and regional conferences on physician recruiting, marketing, diversity, equity and inclusion and process development and improvement. Her effectiveness as a marketer earned her back-to-back wins as Advertising Agency Owner of the Year in 2000 and 2001 by the American Women in Radio and TV.
