Shannon Anderson, CPRP

Program Manager, Provider Recruitment, Onboarding and Retention; The Guthrie Clinic

A 2011 graduate of The Pennsylvania College of Technology with a degree in Business Administration, concentrating in Human Resource Management, Shannon has built a distinguished career at The Guthrie Clinic. Starting in Human Resources, she quickly transitioned to Physician Recruitment, where she served in various roles, including Coordinator, Recruiter, and Program Manager of Provider Recruitment and Retention. In her current position, she leads initiatives to ensure the seamless onboarding and retention of providers across the organization.

Over her career, Shannon has made significant strides in improving operational efficiency within the department. She has pioneered standard reporting and metrics tracking, implemented advanced applicant tracking and onboarding systems, and developed standard workflows for provider onboarding and retention.

One of Shannon's core areas of expertise is immigration management for physicians, which she has led for over 10 years. What began with overseeing J-1 waivers has expanded to managing the full scope of provider immigration processes, including H-1B visas and green card approvals. Shannon takes great pride in successfully navigating complex immigration cases, working diligently to support both providers and their families through what can often be a stressful journey.

Her role as the in-house immigration expert has made her an invaluable resource for providers and senior leadership alike, as she provides guidance on the intricacies of U.S. immigration laws and processes. Her upcoming presentation at the AAPPR national conference will reflect her deep knowledge and passion for helping healthcare professionals overcome immigration challenges and establish rewarding careers in the U.S.
